I sold my soul to my shadow
Without knowing the consequence
So naive, I was a child
I volunteered my innocence
And my skeleton
Has become cement
And it won’t be long
Till’ the flesh is gone
And the mold is cast
Taking shape so fast
I’m ready now (at last)
Under the skin and bone
Took my face when the blood starts slowing
I’m turning into stone
Halfway there, might as well keep going
I’m in a gallery, I’m behind a glass
No touching me, those days have passed now
But who will love me when the night is over?
And I’m just a sculpture
No more running through the garden
I can’t hide in my mother’s arms
One by one, my fingers harden
A freestanding work of art
And my skeleton
Has become cement
And it won’t be long
Till’ the flesh is gone
And the mold is cast
Taking shape so fast
I’m ready now (at last)
Under the skin and bone
Took my face when the blood starts slowing
I’m turning into stone
Halfway there, might as well keep going
I’m in a gallery, I’m behind a glass
No touching me, those days have passed now
But who will love me when the night is over?
And I’m just a sculpture
It’s too late, cheeks opaque
To my tears are frozen
I’ll take them far away
My fate is chosen
Who will love me when the night is over?
And I’m just a sculpture
