Barricades

Barricades

Décembre Noir

So much is lost
No hope in sight
This life is cold
A veil full of night

Barricades
I wish I could forgive myself
Barricades
For my own mistakes

Under a starless sky
In the darkness
I am a broken crownless king
A monument of sadness
In a rigid prayer pose
A thousand nails on my tongue
I’m an extinct fire
A remnant of the fallen Sun
I want to be the light again
Maybe just for a while

I am a stranger in my own world
Everything seems so unreal
Within this godless savage garden
Behind self-chosen walls of inner doubts
I still breathe the poisoned air of my past
Countless wrong decisions
I am the ugly in between
The living evidence of wasted years

I am an extinct fire
A remnant of the fallen Sun
In a rigid prayer pose
I feel a thousand nails upon my tongue

Barricades

But so much is lost
No hope in sight
This life feels so cold
A veil full of night

Barricades, I need much more barricades
Higher walls for my protection
Barricades, oh how I despise my dails barricades

I am an extinct fire
A remnant of the fallen Sun
In a rigid prayer pose
I feel a thousand nails upon my tongue

Barricades
I wish I could forgive myself
Barricades
For my own mistakes

Extinct fire
Fallen Sun
Rigid prayer pose
Nails on my tongue

The Downward Path
