When I asked the ones who knew you
Why you’d been away so long
I learned of your confusion and devotion
And despite your own afflictions
You still tried to bear your cross
Do you still believe things happen for a purpose?
Did they seem like miracles?
With grace, redemption
Don’t raise your hopes for wonder, in your heart
When they left with your conviction
Did they leave behind your scars?
Well I hope you see your miracles at last
When they placed their hand upon you
When they prayed in Jesus’ name
Did your faith sustain you long enough to stand again?
I guess they warmed your heart with tales of footprints in the sand
But He doesn’t seem to carry you right now
Well they all lined up and testified of suffering and pain
And how long they’d all endured this torment every day
Then they claimed some kind of miracle of God, a healing power
Do you wonder why he never helps you now?
