Up Where The Angels Fly

Up Where The Angels Fly

Richard Clapton

There’s a distance in your eyes,
ten thousand miles of sky,
It’s a long and lonely flight,
but it’s all a part of life.
As the dreamtime disappears,
are your dreams now far or near,
Is your mind becoming clear,
won’t you step into the light;

There we were standing
and screaming in the hall,
Then when we’re through hurting each other,
We just can’t remember the point of it all.

LET’S GO UP WHERE THE ANGELS FLY

One fine night we walked the streets –
watched the dawn break on the beach,
Now it all seems out of reach,
but it’s just a state of mind,
There’s two nations in our hearts,
and it’s tearing us apart,
No more living in the dark,
up where the angels fly;

Here in Metropolis –
reality disappears,
But baby we’ve come too far
to be throwing our dreams out
in senseless defeat –
music soothes the savage beast
