Far From The Sun

Far From The Sun

Rural Roads

In the city’s raging fury
All the people in a hurry
No time to lose we need so much more
Only for ourselves not to feed the poor
We are part of a master plan
We play our roles like every other man
He stands and watches as we bleed
On a dying Earth, corrupted, torn and sick

Far from the sun

As the planet turns we turn our faces
Away from the truth and the lies we hear
Let’s watch TV, read the news
And be fools that only play by their rules

Fly away
Far from the sun
Run away
From all that’s been learned
Don’t you cry
You’ve seen the damage done
As you’ve tried
To find your way back home
Way back home

A man’s dreams are like empty shells
In this godforsaken living hell
The father preaches, the mothers cry
We are accustomed to saying goodbye
The work is hard but the pay is thin
Money is like the eighth deadly sin
Destroys your mind while it feeds your home
As the devil laughs, sitting on his throne

Fly away
Far from the sun
Run away
From all that’s been learned
Don’t you cry
You’ve seen the damage done
As you’ve tried
To face the race alone

Fly away
Far from the sun
Run away
From all that’s been learned
Don’t you cry
You’ve seen the damage done
As you’ve tried
To find your way back home
Way back home

Far from the sun
Far away from home
There is a place
Beyond this long road
Far from the light
Close to the shore
Deep in the water I see
All that is left
Of my memories
And the dreams of the past

Fly away
Far from the sun
Run away
From all that’s been learned
Don’t you cry
You’ve seen the damage done
As you’ve tried
To find your way back home

Hide away
Far from the sun
Or to your mind
The darkness will return
Don’t you try
To undo the damage done
When we die
We end up alone
All alone

Far From The Sun
